CRADLE MOUNTAIN . As popular as Wine Glass Bay . A must SEE. Cradle Mountain is part of the Lake St Clair national park and can be accessed from Devonport on the north west . The weather at Cradle Mountain is unpredictable at times and you need to be well prepared for all conditions. Temperature high can reach around the 30oc mark and the lows can be a chilly -10oc. Snow can fall all year round, but usually in July, August and September. Whilst at a campsite or chalet, you can expect to see some of Tasmania 's wildlife in there natural habitat. Animals such as wombats, wallabies, kangaroos, ringtail possums, devils, quolls, rosella's just naming a few. Cradle Mountain is renowned for its famous bushwalking, hosting a number of different walks to choose from. Walks such as Dove Lake Circuit and the cradle mountain summit, it is also the start of the world-famous overlander track, a 5 day hike.
