Sheffield in Tasmania 's North West is situated 30kms from Devonport under Mt Roland. It is a rich agriculture area. Sheffield was named after the famous town in Yorkshire , but is also known as the town of murals.

As you walk around Sheffield , a number of buildings have been enhanced by beautifully painted murals depicting scene's from past history. The murals have been a town project, with the local school children painting murals on the garbage bins. The first mural was painted in December 1986, since then over 47 murals have been painted.
